Ez a kiadvány azért született, hogy segítse a gyermekekkel nap, mint nap találkozó szakemberek, pedagógusok, iskolai szociális segítők, iskolapszichológusok, ifjúságsegítők munkáját. Célja, hogy információkat nyújtson a szenvedélybetegségről, különös tekintettel a szenvedélybeteg család jellemzőire, hogy jobban megértsük mi történik egy ilyen családban felnövő gyermek körül. A kézikönyv a szenvedélybetegségről, a szenvedélybeteg családról szóló anyagok mellett egyéni beszélgetésekben használható útmutatót és csoportos gyakorlatokat is tartalmaz, melyek segítenek feldolgozni a témát elsősorban 12 év feletti gyermekekkel rendhagyó osztályfőnöki órán vagy más, iskolai kereteken kívüli csoportokon. A könyv végén található szóróanyagok, faliújságra, honlapokra kihelyezhető információk szabadon használhatóak a gyermekek tájékoztatása érdekében.

Miről szólnak „Lurkó történetei”?

Általában a szenvedélybetegség, különösen a szülők szenvedélybetegsége társadalmunkban ma még igencsak tabutémának számít. Tény azonban, hogy túl sok embert érint a szenvedélybetegség. Becslések szerint Magyarországon minimum négyszázezer gyermek érintett különböző, ebből fakadó terhek elviselésében (pl. rájuk terhelik a szülői szerepeket, vagy krónikusan stresszes családi légkörben kell élniük, esetleg a szükségesnél sokkal kevesebb a gyermek és a szülő közötti interakció).
A Lurkó kutyáról szóló négy történet a megelőzést, egészségfejlesztést szolgáló pedagógiai eszköz, amely támogatja a szakembereket abban, hogy a szülők szenvedélybetegségéről beszélgetést kezdeményezhessenek. 4-8 éves korú gyermekek számára készültek a történetek. A négy mesében Lurkó, a kiskutya olyan helyzeteket él át, melyekkel a szenvedélybeteg szülők gyermekei – hasonló módon – találkoznak. A tematika fiktív feldolgozása és a történet közös meghallgatása megkönnyíti az érintett gyermekek számára saját helyzetük megértését, miközben saját élményeik a kiskutyáról való beszélgetés védelmében maradnak. Így saját érzéseiket nem kell direkt módon megnevezniük, hanem Lurkó figuráján keresztül nyilváníthatják ki azokat.
Fontos, hogy le tudjuk dönteni a szülői szenvedélybetegség tabuját, és az érintett gyermekeknek világossá tudjuk tenni, hogy mindazért, ami körülöttük történik, ők egyáltalán nem felelősek. Tudniuk kell, hogy a függőség és a szenvedélybetegség valóban betegség, és minden gyermeknek joga van az ezzel kapcsolatos élményeiről beszélgetni valakivel, akiben megbízik. Lurkó történetei segítenek abban, hogy megértsék, nem felelősek sem a szüleikért, sem azért, hogy a szülők a szerfogyasztást abbahagyják-e vagy sem.

Amikor egy család bajban van

Ezt a könyvet azért alkottuk meg, hogy segítsen a gyerekeknek megérteni az alkohol- és szerhasználati zavarok alapvető fogalmait, a családra gyakorolt hatását, és egyúttal segítsen egészséges megküzdési készségeket kialakítani. A rajzolás ösztönzi a verbális kommunikációt, és feltárja az adott gyermek aggodalmait, félelmeit, így fény derül az esetleges félreértésekre.

„Érzések kirajzolása”, mely azért jött létre, hogy támogassa a szülőket, pedagógusokat és segítőket egy olyan átlátható szemlélettel, amivel segíthetnek, hogy a gyerekek képesek legyenek megküzdeni a családi veszteségekkel és változásokkal.
