A jelenleg hatályos társadalmi berendezkedés alapján ők csak ahhoz elég nagyok, hogy ezeket az ártalmakat elszenvedjék, ahhoz, hogy olvassanak róla, nem.

A kötet szerzői mindannyian a „tegnap gyermekei”, akik fontosnak tartják megosztani és láthatóvá tenni saját szenvedélybeteg családban megélt tapasztalataikat. Teszik mindezt a mielőbbi segítségnyújtás reményében, a tegnap és a ma gyermekei szenvedésének enyhítése érdekében.

Szeretnénk a novellákon keresztül bemutatni, átérezhetővé, élményszerűvé tenni a diszfunkcionálisan működő családban felnövő gyermekek tapasztalatait, a novellákhoz tartozó szakirodalmi kitekintésekben pedig nevükön nevezni és bemutatni ezeket a folyamatokat.

„Érdekes, hogy vannak dolgok, amiken már ezerszer átrágtam magam, és ezerszer gondoltam, hogy túl vagyok rajta, kész vagyok vele, sikeresen feldolgoztam és lezártam, aztán egyszer csak megint ott találom magam kisfiúként, és nézem az akkor zajló eseményeket a most olvasottak tükrében, aztán jól kibőgöm magam, és megkönnyebbülök.”

Egyik kliensem egyszer úgy fogalmazott, nem emlékszik, a terápia elején konkrétan mikkel foglalkoztunk, miről beszélt, csak arra emlékszik, de arra nagyon tisztán, mikor egy esemény kapcsán megkérdeztem tőle, hogy hogyan érezhette magát abban a helyzetben az a kisgyermek? Életében először volt képes – már felnőttként – ránézni annak a kiszolgáltatott kisgyermeknek a helyzetére és együttérezni önmagával. Az ő felépülése akkor és ott kezdődött.

Gyermekek mentálisan sérülékeny családokban

A mentális betegségek olyan elterjedtek a népesség körében, hogy egyes becslések szerint minden negyedik embert érintenek élete egy bizonyos periódusában. Az adatok azt mutatják, hogy a komoly mentális betegségben szenvedők 30-60%-ának van gyermeke, más számítások szerint 12-ből egy gyermeknek legalább az egyik szülője mentálisan beteg.

A mentálisan sérülékeny szülők esetében a társadalom közönyös vagy elutasító, a szülők gyakran nem fogadják el betegségüket, emiatt nem keresnek gyógyulást, és a gyermekek saját magukat okolják, mert szüleik nem érzik jól magukat. Az ilyen családban nevelkedő gyermekek nagyon sokszor nem kapnak semmilyen professzionális támogatást ahhoz, hogy nehézségeik ellenére, azokat legyőzve mégis egészségesen fejlődjenek.

“Nagyon sokáig nem tudtam megfogalmazni magamnak, hogy milyen is volt ez az egész. Aztán egyszer egy könyvben olvastam egy jó metaforát: egy dinoszaurusz ott ül a nappali közepén, és tilos tudámst venni a létezéséről. És tényleg: tökéletesen visszaadja az érzést. Ott a behemót valami, egyáltalán nem illik oda, csattogtatja a fogait, kopkod a körmeivel. A gyerek legszívesebben sírna és menekülne, de megbénítja a tapasztalat, hogy a felnőttek úgy viselkednek, mintha minden rendben lenne. Pontosan ilyen érzés egy alkoholista szülő mellett felnőni.”

A MMSZ Fogadója Kimondható?! ismeretterjesztő kiadványainak sorában ez a 10. füzet, témája a szenvedélybeteg családokban élő gyermekek. Magyarországon körülbelül 400.000 gyermek él olyan családban, ahol az egyik, vagy mindkét szülő alkoholbeteg! Mentálhigiénés állapotuk figyelmen kívül hagyása, rejtettsége hosszútávon kimondottan negatívan hat a szenvedélyprobléma megelőzésére, ill. az egészségfejlesztésre általában is. Mi jellemzi őket? Hogyan szólíthatók meg? Mit érdemes mondani nekik? Mit lehet tenni értük? Ezekre a kérdésekre kap választ az olvasó.
